ApplyAI was founded by University of Victoria students who got tired of how repetitive, stressful, and time-consuming applying to jobs had become.

Our mission is to help students apply smarter, save time, and get closer to the opportunities they deserve. ApplyAI was built to take the repetitive parts of applying off your plate so you can focus on landing the right role — and feel more confident doing it.
The founder story
We were two UVic students juggling classes, co-op terms, and a relentless stream of applications. Every posting meant another round of tweaking the same resume, rewriting another cover letter, and second-guessing whether any of it would actually get read.
We kept hearing the same thing from friends across faculties: applying takes forever, it's hard to know what recruiters want, and the whole process makes a stressful time even more stressful. The students who did well weren't necessarily more qualified — they were just better at tailoring their applications quickly.
So we built ApplyAI: a tool that does the tailoring for you, in seconds, for every single posting. It started as something we wished we'd had — and turned into something we want every student to have. We're just getting started, and we're building it in the open, for the people we built it for.
